Glass House Ranch

New Construction |

Nestled on a large tract of land at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, this family retreat centers around a rehabilitated masonry barn that anchors the new estate. The project allowed a family and their three daughters to relocate from the city, embracing a lifestyle connecting with nature. The design balances a year-round residence with the feel of a secluded escape, utilizing the property's natural features to buffer a nearby highway and subdivision. Positioned near a flowing creek and shaded by a mature oak tree, the new home is both luxuriously appointed and deeply contextual. The transformed barn—now a modern office and entertainment space—connects to the main residence via a striking 70-foot steel and glass spine.
